Abstract

In this interview, instructor Young Gi Jeon Lee recounts his training in Taekwondo in South Korea and other countries where he refined his skills. Likewise, he will provide tactical advice for the optimal development of this sport. The Eastern philosophy of this master focuses on the perception of Taekwondo in everyday life, in contrast to the representations found in media culture, cinema, and television, where this practice is often idealized as a means to acquire combat skills and become invincible against any opponent. The instructor will propose the deconstruction of these arguments and the incorporation of fundamental premises—recommendations made possible solely by his extensive experience in this martial art and the expertise gained during his previous tenure as president.
